    The only national-scale digital geologic maps that portray most or all of the United States for the conterminous U.S. are the digital version of the King and Beikman (a, b) map at a scale of ,,, as digitized by Schruben and others () and the generalized digital version (Reed and Bush, ) of the Geologic Map of North America. Local township maps are an informational resource that are helpful when researching the history of an area, navigating your way around an unfamiliar area or find areas with special designation. While paper maps aren't utilized as much as they were before the technical revolution, they are readily available in digital forms.

    PCPG has compiled the following list of Internet links to assist geologists and environmental scientists in locating relevant information on the web quickly. This list will evolve, as does the Internet, and please feel free to recommend or offer other links . The staff of the Survey shows but few changes from year to year. Six members, including the State Geologist, are continu-ously employed. The others are on a per diem basis and are engaged upon Survey work as the occasion demands.
